We had been working hard on our greeting program before and after church. We call people greeters but really ask them to mingle and interact after service. We thought we were making progress (and I think we have).
But we completely missed those waiting in the sanctuary as they depart. I know its true – I’ve seen how guests/visitors open up if you catch them before they leave, so much more willing to stay for coffee or come back a second time. But I never made that leap to figuring out how to making that happen in the sanctuary every time (like we’ve done for greeting before and after service at the front door and in the parlor). Definitely a great article and will be thinking about how to put this into practice!
