Trinity Presbytery Challenges Congregations to Pursue Their Full Kingdom Potential

Believing that God is already at work in and around their congregation and He is calling you to come and join Him in this important work, just as Jesus called the disciples to join Him in the work He was already doing.

In order to help you join God in the work that He is already doing, if you help provide leadership within the life of your congregation, then your are invited to attend Trinity Presbytery’s…Spiritual Strategic Journey Learning Experience

Are You Ready to Take Your Congregation to the Next Level?

One of the primary areas of the new Mission Statement of Trinity Presbytery is “Equipping and encouraging its diverse community in spiritual growth and mission effectiveness.” In addition, our new Mission Discernment and Strategic Planning Report highlighted the importance of focusing on the “direct resourcing of church leadership” as we move into the new future that God is calling us.

One of the ways that the Division of Evangelism & Church Support is seeking to provide “direct resourcing of church leadership” is through developing Congregational Transformation Coaches within Trinity Presbytery.

A few months ago, we issued a challenge to members of Trinity Presbytery in an effort to identify and equip persons who felt called to this area of ministry. Our measure of success was the positive reponse of four (4) persons. We more than doubled this goal. We actually had six (6) clergy and three (3) lay persons to respond to our challenge.

These individuals have received a total of 30 hours of training in coaching skill development and the processes for congregational transformation. Their training is on-going. In fact, they will eventually become Certified Congregational Transformation Coaches. They are currently being trained to come alongside our existing congregations that are ready for the transition and change that leads to transformation and coach their church leaders through the transformation process.

The question, however, is this: Is your congregation ready for the transition and change that leads to transformation?

Well, in order to help you answer this question the Division of Evangelism & Church Support invites you to attend a Spiritual Strategic Journey Introductory Learning Experience on Friday, September 5, 2008, from 9 AM to 4:30 PM (Only pastors, associate pastors and program staff members; such as, Directors of Christian Education on Friday) and Saturday, September 6, 2008, from 9 AM to 4:30 PM (Session members and all other church leaders, plus those attending on Friday. Each congregation is encouraged to bring a minimum of 7 persons on Saturday.).

The purpose of the Spiritual Strategic Journey Learning Experience is two-fold:

1. If you attend this event along with other church leaders from your church and you all determine that your congregation is ready for the transition and change that leads to transformation, then we will extend to your church an opportunity to join with other churches, forming groups of 3 to 7 cluster congregations, and coach you through the transformation process;
2. If you attend this event along with other church leaders from your church and you all determine determine that your congregation is not ready for the transition and change that leads to transformation, then you will learn exactly what you will need to go back home and start working on and how to go about doing it, so that your church can be ready when we form our next group of cluster congregations to coach through the transformation process.

Once again, one of the goals of the Division of Evangelism & Church Support is to provide direct resourcing to you so that you can lead the congregation that you serve to pursue its full kingdom potential.

So, if you are a church leader and you have a desire to:

* Discern what God is calling your church to become and do;
* Have a clear and compelling vision of your congregation’s future;
* Experience deep and meaningful relationships with the triune God, with one another, and with the community context in which you serve;
* Be faithful and innovative in executing high quality and effective programs, ministries, and activities that meet the real needs of real people in real time, while remaining on the cutting edge of Christian ministry; and,
* Make available accountable management systems that seek to empower visionary leadership rather than controlling the operations of the congregation;

We look forward to, perhaps, seeing you and other church leaders from your congregation at our Spiritual Strategic Journey Introductory Learning Experience September 5-6, 2008.
